Lavelle Partners has been advised that the review of babies born with subgaleal haemorrhages in University Hospital Galway (“UGH”) is now complete and the report is awaited.
Reason for Initial Review
The review, announced two weeks ago, was ordered following a rise in occurrences of the injury over a short period but UHG has not confirmed how many cases are being examined. The review is examining cases where subgaleal haemorrhages occurred during 2022.
Adverse Effects of Condition
The adverse effects of the condition can lead to the onset of anaemia and neurological problems, such as brain damage or seizures. See our prior update for further details.
