I graduated from University College Cork with a Bachelor of Civil Law Degree (BCL) and from the University of Limerick with a Master of Laws in European Law (LLM).
I also hold a Diploma in employment law and a Professional Certificate in Compliance with the Institute of Bankers.
Brief overview of my career:
After completing my Master’s Degree, I spent two years working with the United Nations Compensation Commission in Geneva, Switzerland where I specialized in corporate claims arising from the Gulf War in 1990/1991. I joined Lavelle in 2005 and completed my traineeship with the firm. I developed a particular interest in commercial litigation during the course of my traineeship and was delighted to become a member of the Dispute Resolution Team upon qualifying as a solicitor in December 2006. I have been at the firm fourteen years now which is an endorsement of the first class working environment in Lavelle which continues to provide interesting and challenging work in a friendly workplace.

What I offer my clients :
I pride myself on giving clear and honest advice to my clients. The advice may not always be what clients want to hear, but it is necessary in order to act in their best interest. I have fourteen years’ experience in litigation across the various courts and alternative dispute resolution forums – experience that I continue to build on through continual development which my clients will always benefit from.
I appreciate that quality of service, responsiveness and personal attention is very important and always strive to provide this. I have many longstanding clients who keep coming back to me for advice as they appreciate my pragmatism, commercialism and expertise. I have received many referrals over the years from existing clients which I believe is the strongest possible endorsement of my work.
Why I love what I do:
In simple terms, I enjoy solving puzzles and coming up with solutions to problems for my clients. There is nothing I find more rewarding!
Personal interests :
When I am not working, I am a keen supporter of Monaghan football, Leinster rugby and martial arts. I love the outdoors and enjoy nothing more than going for hikes with my children who always have lots of energy to burn! I also enjoy a beer and a good boxset on Netflix to unwind.
