Hospital Surgical Negligence

Our client underwent what was expected to be a routine gallbladder removal procedure to treat ongoing gallbladder problems. Following the surgery, she was discharged from hospital and initially believed the operation had been successful.

Shortly after returning home, however, our client began experiencing severe abdominal pain, nausea and fever. Concerned by her worsening condition, she returned to hospital for further assessment. Investigations revealed that during the operation, her bile duct had been inadvertently severed, causing significant internal injury and serious complications.

As a result of the surgical error, our client required multiple corrective procedures, including complex reconstructive surgery to repair the damaged bile duct. She underwent prolonged hospital treatment and faced a lengthy recovery period. What had been expected to be a routine operation became a life-changing experience, leaving her unable to maintain her normal level of independence and significantly affecting her quality of life.

Long-Term Consequences

The consequences extended beyond her physical injuries. Our client endured considerable pain and suffering, emotional distress and uncertainty regarding her future health. She also faced financial difficulties as a result of her inability to work during her recovery and the ongoing need for medical treatment and support.
