Before qualifying as a solicitor, I practiced as a Barrister between 2015 and 2018. In this time I practiced in a variety of areas, including personal injuries, data protection, intellectual property and trademark law, maritime law, public law (The Disclosures Tribunal) and criminal law. I was involved in drafting pleadings, drafting legal submissions, conducting legal research, providing letters of advices, running motions and full hearings, both when led by Senior Counsel and in my own right, handling witnesses and taking part in consultations with clients along with the instructing solicitor. I was involved in both cases in Dublin and on circuit, covering every tier of the Court system from the Supreme Court to the District Court.
In choosing me to represent them, clients will gain a solicitor who will take their instructions and give advices with an empathetic ear, and who will offer the an honest assessment of their situation, with the focus on obtaining the best result possible for the client at the heart of every case.
I love the feeling of providing practical advice and obtaining a positive result for a client who otherwise would have felt completely lost in the legal system, and feeling that I have added value to a given client’s case. This is particularly so in the context of employment clients where the client is the employee, and there is a fundamental imbalance in the respective strength of the parties, with the employer often having the full apparatus that goes with a large or even multinational company available against a single individual who isn’t often aware of their rights or entitlements.
